SmoothGlo Santa Rosa

SmoothGlo improves skin tone, texture, and volume in multiple treatments that set a new standard for aesthetic results. This treatment combines Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) together with Radiofrequency (RF) micro-needling to produce superior results.

How it Works

SmoothGlo treatments are broken up into two parts:

IPL: Firstly, the IPL device is used to treat any hyperpigmentation via “photothermolysis”, a special wavelength used to coagulate brown and red pigment. This significantly minimizes these pigments and stimulates collagen production. IPL can also be used to treat both lesions and rosacea.

RF Micro-Needling: RF micro-needling treats skin laxity in addition to wrinkles by breaking the skin with fractionated needles and delivering heat energy into the dermal layer. Leading to tightening and rejuvenation of the skin.

SmoothGlo FAQs

This procedure works best if you are looking to minimize skin pigmentation and would like to improve the overall texture, volume, and appearance of your skin.

A topical numbing cream will be applied to help with any discomfort, then, the treatment area will be thoroughly cleansed and coated in a cold gel to help better transmit light and keep your skin cool. Following your procedure, the treatment area is cleansed gently with soap and water and dried completely.

Equally important, the next step is RF micro-needling. A new disposable needle tip with ultra-thin electrodes is applied to the skin. After the treatment, a cooling mist will be applied to the treatment area for comfort and to keep it moisturized.

SmoothGlo treatments can take anywhere between 30 minutes to 1 hour.

Your skin will feel warm for a few hours after treatment. You may experience redness and mild swelling for up to 4 days after treatment. Minor scabbing will develop on the treatment areas which will naturally heal and shed off a week after treatment. Your overall skin texture may feel dry, however, these are normal side effects that will subside after 4-7 days of treatment.

It is important to avoid sun exposure for at least one week after treatment and discontinue the use of retinol products. We recommend using gentle cleansers after treatment and to moisturize frequently.

Typically, patients need 3 treatments performed once a week, and an additional 2 treatments spaced 2-3 weeks apart. After you complete your 5 sessions, it is recommended you receive 2 maintenance sessions a year.
